- 主角们出生在甘露寺之变的公元835年，到剧中年纪，应是二十岁上下。也就是说：距离剧中那位英伟沉稳的唐宣宗驾崩，也就三五年了；距离“我花开后百花杀”敲骨吸髓舂磨砦以致中原十室九空的黄巢起义，不过二十来年了；距离唐王朝最终的覆灭，也不到半百光景了。这些一看就生长于承平年代，丝毫没有被饥馑困厄离乱雕凿过的痕迹，脸庞如花朵鲜嫩，身姿比丝绦娇弱的高庙中的少年人，大抵很难正常地走完这一生。谁又能想得到，这一派海晏河清，蒸蒸日上的盛世气象，竟是行将就木的唐王朝，最后一次回光返照勾勒出的幻景呢？
