- 八尺门是一个台湾省的小岛，面积不大，阿美族原住民聚集于此。剧集中人分三六九等：白浪，山胞，外劳。1992年，老佟反抗渔业的白浪们对本地居民（山胞）的奴役，奋起杀死奴役者，成为了阿美族族人心中的英雄。2018年，外劳阿布找阿美族阿群要回自己的护照，此时已经成为渔业爪牙的阿群压迫更底层的外劳，激动之下，偏激自闭的阿布杀了阿群和妻子，并且把阿群两岁的女儿放在了浴缸中两分钟如阿群日常处罚他一样。2019年，老佟的儿子宝驹帮杀死自己表哥阿群的凶手阿布做辩护，在彻底绝望后，宝驹在监狱中想起了老佟奋起杀死渔场奴役者的那一天的感受，一切只是轮回，底层的人只会去倾轧更加底层的人，仇恨只会一代又一代的遗传与轮回。
