- 剧情的推进方式与常见的悬疑刑侦剧不同，常见的方式是以案件为核心，几集一个完整的案子，然后像书本翻篇一样，再开启一个毫无关联的新案子。然而这部剧是以张译饰演的刑警卫国平为核心，以人的视角为主，案件以多案并进的方式同步推进，这样更符合老刑警真实的工作状态：一个人同步跟进多个案子。这种方式会让剧集的完整性更强，沉浸感更强，仿佛是以卫国平的第一视角沉浸式探案，但缺点是信息量大，线索环环相扣，一个走神就可能漏掉关键细节，有一定的观剧门槛。不过，对于悬疑剧爱好者来说，这反而是优点。
